Re: Fulfill your dreams...
Dear Entrepreneur,
t's rare for me to let the world know about my failures as an entrepreneur but it must be told. Most everyone who is successful today did not start out successful right away. They had many failures to begin with. So no matter where you're at in your goal of making a full-time living online, just know that failure is a part of the process. I want to tell you my story so you know what it takes to succeed and to give you a little motivation to keep you in your track.
In the Spring of 2003 I graduated from a small liberal arts college with a degree in graphic design. I was surely proud of myself because I am the first in my family to graduate from college. The excitement of graduation gradually wore off as I was faced with the prospect of not having any job or money.
I had a couple internships but after those ended, they threw me to the curb. It seems that they just wanted free labor. One of the places I interned at was cutting their budget and could only pay me $1600 a month. That was not even $20,000 a year. It cost me more to go to college than they were willing to pay me so you could see the anger I felt.
So I decided that I would take a risk and see if I could start my own online business. I had a mentality for a long time that in order to get rich I couldn't work for someone else. The only way to go as I saw it was to be my own boss. I figured that since I hadn't held a 'real' job after college that I should pursue my goals as an entrepreneur before I got stuck in the rat race.
It took me several months of fooling around and learning before I even made a single dollar. You see, with a majority of people who are looking to make it in this business, the same thing always keeps them from being successful. It's the hobby mentality.
A hobby is something that you enjoy doing in your free time. Running a successful online business is pleasing but setting up a successful online business is not something you should enjoy. If you're doing it correctly you WILL fail. You will have technical problems. You will get spam complaints. You will have difficulties getting traffic to your site. The list goes on.
That's why it's hard for people to take action on what they learn. It's because they will fail and that feeling is not as good as the feeling they get when they buy a product and consume it. People welcome pleasure and avoid pain. It's basic human psychology.
As soon as I made a plan to succeed no matter how many times I failed, I eventually found success. Was it because I picked up a secret that no one else knew about? Nah. I succeeded because I took consistant and planned actions. I measured my progress and tweaked my strategy.
If you're looking for the holy grail of courses to show you how to make money online then you should quit right now. I'll tell you exactly what you can do to make a full-time living online. Take consistant and measured actions on what you learn.
Here's what works:
1.) Writing and submitting articles and press releases
2.) Publishing blogs
3.) Running an affiliate program
4.) Building sites based on low competition, high volume search phrases
5.) Creating joint ventures with people
6.) Learning how to write effective ad copy
That list is not comprehensive. In fact, you don't need to do all of those things. You can make a full-time living by just following item #4 and #1. I know one guy who focuses only on article submissions as his marketing strategy and he makes five figures a month with Adsense.
If you're ready and willing to end your hobby and begin your business then join me as I show you whatever I'm involved with at the current time. I'm at a level now where I can take a look at a strategy and break it down into easy to follow steps for you. This clarity of information will help you learn quicker, be more open-minded about opportunities, and thus have the motivation to put your knowledge into a consistent action plan.
